how to trick boys into doing paper crafts in the library

last week we came up with a cunning plan to get boys to come to our origami workshop which was part of a school holiday activity run by the library.  enter, the SHURIKEN NINJA STAR. we had just under 30 kids sitting around the library making stuff which we had only learned how to do ourselves ten minutes before the activity started. i found this youtube instructional video which we should have used. give it a go yourself. also good for christmas decorations if you use silver and gold paper.

lesson learnt:  if you tell a young male child that you are giving him the opportunity to construct an object that can potentially maim his mates, then your chances of ‘buy in’ becomes much greater.
